AUTOBOT AERIALBOT LEADER

Slingshot is pictured to show the function of the launchpad mode.
He is not included with Silverbolt except in the gift set.

from the collection of Shawn Keaton

Silverbolt came with:
1 black and gold head
1 red waist shield
1 off-white chest shield
2 off-white fists labelled "L" and "R" repectively
2 off-white foot plates labelled "L" and "R" repectively
1 large black gun
1 off-white ramp

Silverbolt forms the torso of Superion. He is one of the five Aerialbots.

Silverbolt was re-released in Generation 2 with different colored robot and accessories. Also, be careful of the many bootlegs that have shiny, low quality plastic parts and "white-backed" stickers. The original Aeriabots will have some metal parts.

In Europe in 1990 and 1991, the Transformers Classics line was launched. These were the first re-issues, consisting of Autobot Cars, Throttlebots, Scramble City combiners, four Triple-Changers, the Dinobots (Swoop was never released in Europe), and Optimus Prime. The toys themselves were identical except that there were no rub signs, and the indents were filled in on the combiners, Triple-Changers, and Throttlebots. The classics molds were again modified for G2, (and RID, and Armada, and Universe for Bruticus). The Throttlebots' rub signs were replaced with regular sigils like Bumblebee and Cliffjumper had in 1984. The Throttlebots were rereleased in 1991.

Click on images to enlarge. Silverbolt had two different tech specs: one from his individual package and one from the gift set.

Please keep in mind that when viewing the large tech specs and instructions to allow a reasonable amount of time for your computer to load these very large files. You can right click on the booklet cover and choose "save target as" if you would like to download the instructions.
