from the collection of Shawn Keaton
from the collection of Shawn Keaton

Optimus Prime came with:
Roller
4 black missiles
1 black gun
1 black gas pump
1 black gas nozzle
2 blue fists, left and right
1 black solid hose
4 red missiles
2 black launchers
1 black sound and lights module
(NOTE: do not confuse Optimus Prime's hose with those that came with GI Joe figures -- GI Joes were released with hollow hose.)

This mold of Optimus Prime was first released in 1984. Generation 2 version was first released in 1993. His legs were a common breaking point, as were his smoke stacks. On his trailer, the door, door hinges, and the missle launcher robot were easily broken as well. Optimus Prime had a variants that were released with different accessories and slightly different colors. If you have any information about this figure not represented here, email us.

G2 Optimus Prime was a slightly lighter shade of blue and was marked with a G2 insignia on the back of his leg:

NOTE: Most G2 accessories have slight variations when compared to the G1 counterparts. Check out Fred's Workshop for more info on the fine variations.
